The Lead Content Writer is responsible for the creation of written content, content organization, and content management for digital properties across both desktop and mobile applications. This role requires a high level of expertise in writing and editing, as well as a deep understanding of web content development practices. The Lead Content Writer will work with minimal supervision to write, edit, and enhance content to meet established tone and style standards, as well as business requirements. This includes developing content strategies and implementing processes for content updates. In this position, you will originate content for new pages and experiences from templates or existing pages. You will interface with a multi-functional team, reviewing and approving website content to ensure a consistent tone of voice and adherence to editorial style standards. As a representative to the design community, you will provide current and complete rationales and contribute to business case development. Collaboration with internal and external team members is essential, as you will represent the content direction on overall design solutions. Your expert knowledge, principles, theories, concepts, and writing ability will be applied to large and complex project deliverables. Although you may oversee the work performed by others to ensure quality, this role does not involve direct management of people. The position requires expert-level writing and editing skills, along with a strong working knowledge of current web content development practices. This role requires an on-site presence (3-5 days a week) at one of the listed locations, and no relocation assistance is provided. The ideal candidate will have a preferred Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Creative Writing, or equivalent experience, along with intermediate-level, real-world experience in design (5-8 years) and the ability to manage projects independently.

Responsibilities

  • Writes, edits, and enhances content to meet established tone and style standards and business requirements.

Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Creative Writing, or equivalent experience.
  • Intermediate-level, real-world experience in design (5-8 years) with working knowledge of managing projects independently.

  • Expert working knowledge of current web content development practices.
