About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer to support the Financial Crimes Operations utility group. This role involves partnering with executive management to define and deliver initiatives across various business lines, fostering relationships with senior leaders to maintain a robust control environment that identifies and mitigates risks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders across Wells Fargo to monitor and manage issues throughout the issue management lifecycle.
  • Act as an advisor to leaders in developing risk mitigation strategies for complex business-specific risks.
  • Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report the impact of decisions and business controls to relevant business groups.
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of complex current and emerging risks requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas.
  • Provide vision and expertise to leaders on implementing innovative business solutions for complex risks.
  • Engage with all levels across business groups to design and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls.
  • Support Control Management leadership in effective risk identification, measurement, monitoring, and mitigation.
  • Promote and enhance existing controls in partnership with business owners and process engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Experience with BSA/AML requirements for financial institutions.
  • Financial Crimes certification (ACAMS).
  • Strong knowledge of the issues management lifecycle.
  • Experience in Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Issue Management.
  • Experience in supporting areas of risk including Operational Risk, Technology, or Compliance roles.
  • Experience in designing, monitoring, and/or remediation of operations and technology controls.
  • Experience in developing and/or monitoring key risk indicators.
