About the position

The Lead Coordinator for Program Management in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery is responsible for managing all aspects of the graduate program, providing advanced administrative leadership in planning, organizing, and implementing educational programs. This role also supports the attainment of accreditation and recognition of academic excellence, ensuring compliance with accrediting agencies and facilitating the onboarding and recruitment of trainees.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day operations of an education program.
  • Maintains databases and prepares reports for accreditation reviews and internal assessments.
  • Supports achievement of strategic goals through the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational plans.
  • Manages all onboarding events for incoming trainees.
  • Oversees the trainee recruitment process of new trainees.
  • Monitors and audits program activities to ensure compliance with applicable accrediting agency.
  • Creates, monitors, and tracks documentation of training and educational activities; may assist with grade or evaluation collection and submission.
  • Works directly with the BCM Graduate Medical Education office to complete all requirements, i.e., MedHub.
  • Manages the administrative functions for all annual events and processes.
  • Oversees administrative staff.
  • Serves as a liaison for the education program with various internal departments and external agencies.
  • Schedules or coordinates lectures, evaluations, meetings, rounds, exams, seminars, training rotations, electives, or special electives.
  • Provides administrative support for the program director and assistant program director, including maintaining calendars and preparing documents.
  • Gathers and analyzes data including preparing reports.
  • May assist with program budget planning and monitoring.
  • Provides assistance and training to lower level employees.
  • Delegates tasks to others and is responsible for review of work.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; four years of relevant work experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
