The Lead Counsel - Data Strategy, Governance & Emerging Technology at McKesson is a pivotal role focused on providing legal leadership and strategic advice on data initiatives across the company's healthcare-oriented businesses. This position requires a dynamic leader with expertise in data enablement, privacy, and emerging technology, who will collaborate with business unit attorneys and executives to drive innovation while managing risk in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Innovate and drive change by leveraging knowledge in data strategy and privacy to deliver actionable guidance.
• Provide strategic counseling with excellent legal judgment and communication skills to support data-driven objectives.
• Collaborate and influence across multiple businesses and stakeholders to drive organizational change.
• Navigate complexity within a highly matrixed organization to build relationships and influence outcomes.
• Lead and execute enterprise-level data initiatives by addressing complex legal issues and ensuring accountability.
• Integrate and align business unit data priorities with the enterprise data strategy for solution-oriented guidance.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Monitor and adapt to evolving laws and regulations to guide the enterprise through changing requirements.

Requirements

• 8+ years as a practicing attorney with firm and/or in-house experience.
• 5+ years of specialized experience in data strategy and enablement, privacy, and/or technology law.
• Member of a U.S. state bar in good standing.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience advising business and legal leaders on complex legal, regulatory, and policy questions in data strategy and enablement.
