About the position

The Lead CPU Performance Architect will be responsible for driving the architecture and performance of high-performance microprocessors. This role involves leading the exploration of CPU and machine learning micro-architecture, developing performance models, and conducting performance analysis and workload characterization. The architect will collaborate with various teams to ensure efficient CPU implementation and will be instrumental in defining CPU subsystem architecture specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the exploration of CPU and ML micro-architecture.
• Develop performance models and conduct performance analysis.
• Characterize workloads and correlate performance data.
• Define and write CPU subsystem architecture specifications.
• Collaborate with RTL, design verification, and physical design teams for efficient CPU implementation.
• Drive performance correlation between performance models and RTL implementations.
• Perform pre-silicon and post-silicon performance bug triage.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in high-performance microprocessor architecture, micro-architecture, performance, and design.
• Experience in CPU architecture with CPU blocks.
• Experience in performance modeling, analysis, correlation, and workload characterization.

Nice-to-haves

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience leading CPU/ML micro-architecture exploration.
• Knowledge of system software components, such as Linux, drivers, and runtime.
• Knowledge of processor instruction set architecture (e.g., ARM, RISC-V, x86).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
