About the position

The Lead, Customer Service position at Family Fare in Dickinson, ND, is a vital role responsible for ensuring a high standard of customer service within the store's front-end operations. This position requires the individual to supervise and direct all front-end activities in the absence of the Customer Service Manager, ensuring that the work shifts contribute positively to the financial interests of the store. The Lead, Customer Service will be tasked with performing various transactions accurately, including cash, checks, debit/credit/EBT cards, and other media in accordance with company policies. Additionally, the role involves managing return-to-stock items, particularly perishable goods, and maintaining knowledge of product locations and advertised items in the store. In this role, the Lead, Customer Service will also be responsible for training other staff members in department activities and functions, managing the selection, scheduling, and supervision of team members to meet departmental productivity levels. The individual will handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines and ensure that the department remains clean, attractive, and well-stocked. Adherence to PPE and safety guidelines, food safety, and cleaning expectations is crucial, as is following guest experience guidelines. The Lead, Customer Service may also be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs, and additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct all front-end activities in the absence of the Customer Service Manager.
  • Accurately perform all transactions including cash, checks, debit/credit/EBT cards, and other media in accordance with policies.
  • Ensure prompt and orderly handling of return-to-stock items, especially perishable items.
  • Maintain knowledge of product locations and advertised items in the store.
  • Train others to perform all department activities and functions.
  • Manage the selection, scheduling, and supervision of team members to meet departmental productivity levels.
  • Handle spoiled or damaged products per established guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Proficient in computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.).
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping skills.
  • Ability to interpret/analyze financials.
  • Experience in developing/managing budgets.
  • Ability to delegate, direct, and implement tasks.
  • Knowledge of suggestive selling and products.
  • Detail-oriented.
