About the position

The Lead position is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency within the cutting area and other warehouse processes. This role involves overseeing personnel to ensure that quality standards are met according to established procedures. The Lead will be responsible for inspecting products upon arrival and departure, documenting any signs of damage, and performing supervisory duties as needed. Operating cutting machines and other equipment is also a key responsibility, along with assisting supervision in safety, housekeeping, and employee job performance. The work environment is characterized by normal warehouse conditions, with a shift schedule that may vary. The position requires physical stamina, as it involves standing and walking for extended periods, twisting, stooping, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, and lifting weights of 50-75 pounds. The Lead must also maintain a clean and orderly work area and adhere to all company environmental and safety procedures to minimize impact and prevent injuries.

Responsibilities

  • Assist supervisor in keeping department operating efficiently.
  • Oversee cutting area and other warehouse processes and personnel to ensure quality standards are performed according to established procedures.
  • Inspect product upon arrival and departure, documenting any signs of damage.
  • Perform supervisory duties as needed.
  • Operate cutting machines and other equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operating systems is necessary.
  • Ability to read, count accurately, perform simple math, and write legibly.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions explicitly.
  • Outstanding work habits and good attendance record are essential.
  • Ability to handle stress caused by meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements.
  • Ability to shift priorities easily and work well with others.
