About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Research Consultant to provide Intelligence Analysis and Technical Cybersecurity insights to Incident Response teams and other stakeholders. This role involves leading initiatives in research, analysis, and implementation of advanced computer network security technologies, while also identifying emerging vulnerabilities and conducting security risk assessments. The consultant will collaborate with various internal partners to address cybersecurity challenges and inform strategic decisions based on technical intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives in research, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of complex computer network security technologies.
  • Review and analyze advanced computer security incident response activities and investigations.
  • Identify emerging vulnerabilities exploited by threat actors and assess their applicability to the Wells Fargo environment.
  • Conduct security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate information security policies.
  • Communicate the cyber threat landscape to the line of business and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Provide insights to CTI engineers and support special projects.
  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Cyber Security Research experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of data security controls including malware protection, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Advanced experience with enterprise cybersecurity tools like Splunk, Chronicle, and CrowdStrike.
  • Understanding of threat analysis and assessment of information security risks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry Cyber/Information Security certifications like CISSP, SANS, CompTIA (Sec+, Net+, CySA+).
  • Cross-functional CTI/Cyber experience in tactical, strategic, financial crimes, and operational concepts.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
