About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Research Consultant to provide Intelligence Analysis and Technical Cybersecurity insights to Incident Response teams and other stakeholders. This role involves leading initiatives in cybersecurity research, analysis, and implementation of protection technologies, while also addressing capability gaps for emerging cyber threats. The consultant will interact with various internal partners and provide oversight in resolving complex cybersecurity issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives including the research, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of complex computer network security technologies.
• Review and analyze advanced computer security incident response activities and investigations.
• Identify emerging vulnerabilities exploited by threat actors and assess their applicability to Wells Fargo's environment.
• Conduct security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate information security policies.
• Communicate the cyber threat landscape to the line of business and provide mitigation strategies.
• Provide insight to CTI engineers and support special projects.
• Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Cyber Security Research experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of data security controls including malware protection, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
• Advanced experience with enterprise cybersecurity tools like Splunk, Chronicle, and CrowdStrike.
• Understanding of threat analysis and assessment of information security risks.
• Industry Cyber/Information Security certifications such as CISSP, SANS, or CompTIA.

Nice-to-haves

• Cross-functional CTI/Cyber experience in tactical, strategic, financial crimes, and operational concepts.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
