About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Research Consultant to provide Intelligence Analysis and Technical Cybersecurity insights to Incident Response teams and other stakeholders. This role involves conducting research on emerging cyber threats, recommending cybersecurity investments, and collaborating with various internal partners to address complex cybersecurity challenges. The consultant will lead initiatives related to computer network security and protection technologies, ensuring compliance with corporate information security policies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives including the research, analysis, design, testing and implementation of complex computer network security technologies.
  • Review and analyze advanced computer security incident response activities and technical investigations.
  • Identify emerging vulnerabilities exploited by threat actors and assess their applicability to Wells Fargo's environment.
  • Conduct security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate information security policies.
  • Communicate the cyber threat landscape to the line of business, providing meaningful mitigation strategies.
  • Provide insight to CTI engineers and support special projects.
  • Collaborate with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Cyber Security Research experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to execute in a fast-paced, high-demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of data security controls including malware protection, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Knowledge of tactics and techniques used by malicious actors.
  • Advanced experience with enterprise cybersecurity tooling like Splunk, Chronicle, and CrowdStrike.
  • Knowledge of threat analysis and assessment of information security risks.
  • Cross-functional CTI/Cyber experience in tactical, strategic, and operational concepts.
  • Industry Cyber/Information Security certifications like CISSP, SANS, CompTIA.
