About the position

The Lead Data Analyst and Portfolio Manager for Customer & Compliance at MUFG Bank is a senior-level role responsible for managing data product portfolios and leading a team of analysts. This position focuses on bridging IT and business teams to deliver critical business outcomes through data solutions, while also overseeing project timelines and risks in an agile environment. The role requires strong stakeholder management and the ability to translate business needs into actionable data strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders to understand their business challenges and identify how Data Solutions can support their objectives.
  • Manage centralized demand for data solutions and capture all types of demand into a Consolidated Book of Work.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to solicit and manage requests, prioritizing competing priorities across business teams.
  • Manage incremental deliverables while centralizing important information to ensure alignment across teams.
  • Track and mitigate risks to minimize surprises and improve communication across teams.
  • Create workplans and tracking mechanisms to provide visibility into the portfolio of data products and services.
  • Lead the discovery process for prioritized scope of work by uncovering high-level business requirements.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of data and reporting needs for various compliance and customer-related domains.

Requirements

  • 10+ years technology industry experience in Banking & Financial Services sector
  • 5+ years' experience in Systems Analysis, Data Analysis
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, data analytics
  • 5+ years of Portfolio Management, Data Product Development, or Data Operations
  • Strong understanding of Payments data and formats (SWIFT, Fed, Chips)
  • Experience preparing user stories, data flows, and product technical specifications
  • Must have experience in Data analysis, including creating complex SQL queries
  • Experience with data warehousing and/or Data Lakes, and Data Marts
  • Proficiency in SQL, Handling Files using Python, Hive Query Language
  • Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Data Integration/ETL tools
  • Exposure to Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, etc.
  • Experience with packaged solutions such as Actimize, Salesforce, etc.
