About the position

The Vice President, Lead Data Analyst and Portfolio Manager for Risk & Finance at MUFG is a pivotal role within the Enterprise Data Products Portfolio Management team. This position focuses on bridging IT and business teams to support the data strategy and deliver critical business outcomes. The successful candidate will manage overall delivery using agile methodologies, lead a small team, and engage with senior stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders to understand their business challenges and identify how Data Solutions can support their objectives.
  • Manage a centralized demand management process, capturing all types of demand into a Consolidated Book of Work.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to solicit and manage requests, prioritizing based on resource capacity and budgets.
  • Manage incremental deliverables while centralizing important information for team alignment.
  • Visualize dependencies across programs, projects, and applications to optimize delivery.
  • Track and mitigate risks to minimize surprises and improve communication across teams.
  • Create workplans and maintain a reporting dashboard to monitor portfolio health of data products & services.
  • Lead the discovery process for prioritized scope of work by uncovering high-level business requirements.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of data & reporting needs for various financial risks and regulatory reports.

Requirements

  • 10+ years technology industry experience in Banking & Financial Services sector
  • 5+ years' experience in Systems Analysis, Data Analysis
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, data analytics
  • 5+ years of Portfolio Management, Data Product Development, or Data Operations
  • Experience in Risk Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, GL and Customer & Product Profitability
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g. BCBS 239, GDPR)
  • Experience preparing user stories, data flows, and product technical specifications
  • Experience in Data analysis, including creating complex SQL queries
  • Experience with data warehousing and/or Data Lakes, and Data Marts
  • Proficiency in SQL, Handling Files using Python, Hive Query Language
  • Experience with relational Databases such as DB2, Oracle

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • Familiarity with Data Integration/ETL tools
  • Exposure to Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure
  • Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI
  • Experience with packaged solutions such as Oracle Financials, Axiom, Workiva
