About the position
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Analytics Consultant in Consumer Lending as part of Cards & Merchant Services. This role focuses on enhancing data aggregation capabilities and transforming how data is utilized within the business. The consultant will collaborate with key stakeholders, technology, and data management teams to curate data for various use cases, manage multiple projects, and support business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Advise on business strategies based on performance metrics and complex data analysis to maximize profits and minimize losses.
- Provide leadership in identifying new tools and methods for data analysis.
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations and policies on all managed projects.
- Deliver project updates, budget forecasts, newsletters, and operations reviews.
- Assist in building quarterly and annual plans and forecasting market research needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive impact on initiatives.
- Lead projects and mentor staff, interns, and external contractors.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Analytics experience or equivalent through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Nice-to-haves
- Strong critical thinking skills for addressing credit-risk or operational challenges in financial services.
- Ability to lead complex projects from ideation to completion while engaging stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment across all organizational levels.
- Knowledge of existing and emerging data platforms and analytic tools (e.g., Python, SQL, SAS, PowerBI, Excel).
- Experience in storytelling with data for diverse audiences.
- Comfortable working independently with some ambiguity.
- Prior Merchant Services experience.
