As a Lead Data and Analytics Engineer at AbbVie, you will play a pivotal role in the digital transformation of a leading biopharma company. This position is part of the Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team, where you will contribute to creating innovative solutions that positively impact patients and their communities. Your primary focus will be on the database administration function, which encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including database architecture, installation, and technical support for various data products. You will be responsible for designing, securing, and maintaining the data structures that store critical corporate data, ensuring the integrity and availability of this information through effective backup and recovery strategies. In this role, you will oversee the data and analytics initiatives within the Procurement department, working closely with various stakeholders to develop data and analytic products that facilitate the digital transformation of procurement processes. You will design and maintain data pipelines that ingest, transform, and prepare data from source systems such as SAP, Sievo, and Provalido into business-aggregated data products. Your expertise will guide less experienced database administrators, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures while enhancing logical database designs and implementing physical databases. You will also conduct performance monitoring and capacity planning for production databases, diagnose database-related issues, and lead the development of database standards and procedures. Your daily interactions will involve collaborating with clients on divisional and enterprise-wide projects, as well as engaging with peer resources in other technical support organizations. This role requires solving complex data integration challenges and designing scalable data processing pipelines and ETL jobs using distributed technologies to efficiently manage growing data volumes.
