CapTech Data Architects play a crucial role in aligning our clients' business objectives with the latest technologies to develop effective data delivery strategies. Our mission is to enhance the business value of our clients by optimizing data usage, improving information stewardship, and streamlining data flows. By gaining a comprehensive understanding of our clients' challenges, our architects leverage their expertise and cutting-edge tools to identify the most effective solutions. We view our Data Architects as thought leaders in the data domain, tasked with nurturing CapTech's talent and expanding our data and analytics capabilities. In this position, you will be responsible for assessing and advocating for data management technologies and practices, bridging the gap between the current state and a well-defined future state. You will interpret and deliver strategic plans that enhance data integration, quality, and delivery in support of business initiatives. Your role will involve formulating and articulating architectural trade-offs across various solution options, ensuring that technical requirements are met while recommending optimal solutions. You will lead teams of data engineers and other technical members through design and implementation, ensuring adherence to best practices. Additionally, you will provide insights to executive stakeholders and development teams, ensuring that data architecture recommendations maximize the value of client data across the organization. Your communication skills will be essential as you engage with non-technical executives, emphasizing the value of modern enterprise-level data solutions. You will drive innovative technology solutions through thought leadership on emerging trends and share project solutions and outcomes with colleagues to enhance future project delivery. Leadership within the Data & Analytics practice area will be a key focus, as you work to grow and develop capabilities and talent. Furthermore, you will partner with CapTech's business development team to showcase our technical capabilities and envision proposed solutions, estimating work plans accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and advocate for data management technologies and practices to eliminate gaps between current and future states.
  • Interpret and deliver strategic plans to improve data integration, quality, and delivery in support of business initiatives.
  • Formulate and articulate architectural trade-offs across solution options before recommending optimal solutions.
  • Lead teams of data engineers and technical members through design, implementation, and best practices.
  • Provide insights to executive stakeholders and development teams to maximize the value of client data.
  • Communicate with non-technical executives about the value of modern enterprise-level data solutions.
  • Drive innovative technology solutions through thought leadership on emerging trends.
  • Share project solutions and outcomes with colleagues to improve future project delivery.
  • Lead within the Data & Analytics practice area focused on growing and developing capabilities and talent.
  • Partner with business development to demonstrate technical capabilities and estimate proposed work plans.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with on-premises and cloud data management, integration, visualization, and analytical technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in designing and implementing modern data architectures and concepts such as cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka, Kinesis, DataFlow, Airflow), NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, HBase, CosmosDB), and modern data warehouse tools (Snowflake, DataBricks).
  • Advanced proficiency in end-to-end data architecture solutions including ingestion, storage, and relational modeling using SQL and Python.
  • Ability to think strategically and relate architectural decisions to business needs and client culture.
  • Ability to assess traditional and modern data architectural components based on business needs.
  • Experience in recommending data governance best practices including MDM, security, privacy, and policies.
  • Experience leading enterprise engineering teams through implementations, serving as POC on design decisions and best practices.
