About the position

The Lead Data Architect at CapTech is responsible for aligning clients' business goals with effective data management technologies and practices. This role involves developing strategies for successful data delivery implementations, enhancing data use, and streamlining data flows. The architect will lead teams, provide insights to stakeholders, and drive innovative technology solutions while ensuring that the recommended solutions deliver business value and align with clients' strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and advocate for data management technologies and practices to eliminate gaps between current and future states.
  • Interpret and deliver strategic plans to improve data integration, quality, and delivery in support of business initiatives.
  • Formulate and articulate architectural trade-offs across solution options before recommending optimal solutions.
  • Lead teams of data engineers and technical members through design, implementation, and best practices.
  • Provide insights to executive stakeholders to maximize the value of client data across the organization.
  • Communicate with non-technical executives about the value of modern enterprise-level data solutions.
  • Drive innovative technology solutions through thought leadership on emerging trends.
  • Share project solutions and outcomes with colleagues to improve future project delivery.
  • Lead within the Data & Analytics practice area to grow and develop capabilities and talent.
  • Partner with business development to demonstrate technical capabilities and estimate proposed work plans.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with on-premises and cloud data management, integration, visualization, and analytical technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in designing and implementing modern data architectures and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with real-time data distribution technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, DataFlow, Airflow).
  • Proficiency in NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, HBase, CosmosDB) and modern data warehouse tools (Snowflake, DataBricks).
  • Ability to think strategically and relate architectural decisions to business needs.
  • Experience in recommending data governance best practices including MDM, security, and privacy policies.
  • Experience leading enterprise engineering teams and serving as a point of contact on design decisions.
