About the position

The Lead Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing data management strategies and processes within the organization. This role involves leveraging AWS cloud components to build systems and solutions, orchestrating data pipelines, and acting as a subject matter expert for various stakeholders. The position emphasizes collaboration, communication, and the ability to transform business needs into actionable data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design data management strategies and processes for the organization
  • Design and build systems and solutions leveraging various AWS cloud components & tools
  • Design, build, and orchestrate data pipelines from multiple sources into the enterprise data warehouse
  • Support data modeling for use in the enterprise semantic layer
  • Design and build new functionalities and solutions for client use cases
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Testers, Developers, and Business Users in the area of Data solution functionality
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to understand their Data needs and business goals
  • Define and estimate the scope of work needed for the implementation of business architecture
  • Lead project and program development team
  • Perform analysis of functional and business requirements, develop user stories and design solutions
  • Support the growth of the Data competency
  • Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of design & implementation experience with distributed applications and systems
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with architecting solutions on Cloud Platforms
  • Ability to design and document data architecture, governance and management processes
  • Ability to analyze and document data structures and transformations
  • Strong experience with DBT, Redshift, MWAA (Airflow), Lambda functions
  • Proficient in Python and SQL
  • Strong skills and proven experience working with Data Warehouses
  • Willingness to develop in Data & Analytics space
  • Strong English language skills for both verbal and written communication
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to plan, track, and report the status of the deliverables
  • At least a Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, computer science or a related field
  • Experience in data collection, modeling, validation and normalization
  • Experience in working in Agile methodology
  • Experience working in an environment leveraging remote communication and collaboration tools (e.g. Github, Slack, JIRA)

Nice-to-haves

  • Infrastructure experience as a DevOps Engineer is a high plus
  • Experience working with Quicksight
