About the position

The Lead Data Architect at McKesson will play a crucial role in the Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services (PSaS) Decision Intelligence (DI) team, focusing on data architecture design for key data product development. This position is pivotal in facilitating data-driven change and creating business value through advanced analytics, ensuring robust and scalable solutions that align with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and integrated data environments across the organization.
  • Influence projects to make decisions related to data strategies including data quality, architecture, and management best practices.
  • Leverage tools and resources to plan, evaluate, and execute strategic initiatives by mapping relational entities to business requirements.
  • Architect complex data systems that support scalable integration and optimal functioning of business-critical applications.
  • Manage the creation of data design deliverables including data models, diagrams, flows, and corresponding documentation.
  • Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in data architecture and engineering.
  • Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to ensure data architectures meet business needs.
  • Implement data governance practices and standards to ensure data integrity and compliance across all systems.
  • Tackle complex data-related problems with strategic solutions that contribute to long-term business success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise data architecture, including data requirements collection, analysis, documentation, modeling, design, development, validation, and integration in modern data platforms (e.g., Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a preference for advanced degrees.
  • Exceptional ability to lead, mentor, and influence teams and stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and their application in data architecture.
