About the position

The Lead Data Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the data architecture of the organization. This role is critical in shaping the data strategy, ensuring data quality, and leveraging data assets to provide actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and will lead high-performance data teams while collaborating with various stakeholders to meet business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the overall data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Design and optimize data models, data flows, and data integration processes.
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable data solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure data quality and governance.
  • Mentor and lead a team of data engineers, analysts, and scientists.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve data architecture and strategy.
  • Explain/translate complicated concepts to internal stakeholders in support of critical projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience leading/mentoring a team.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL & ELT processes, and data warehousing.
  • Proficiency in Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Experience with data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
