About the position

The Lead Data Architect at Humana plays a crucial role in shaping the data landscape of the organization. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including data design, database architecture, and the creation of metadata and repositories. The Lead Data Architect is tasked with addressing complex problems that vary in scope and difficulty, often requiring innovative solutions. This role is pivotal in interpreting the business goals and drivers of the Service sector and translating these into actionable data products. The individual will work closely with various teams, including Product, Data Science, Reporting, and IT, to ensure that the quality of product strategy inputs and business requirements aligns with the prioritized roadmap. In addition to these responsibilities, the Lead Data Architect will support various projects and change initiatives by providing insights and conducting necessary ad hoc analytics. This position is characterized by a high level of ownership, as the individual will be the primary point of contact for solutions across the Enterprise Operations Environment (EOE), driving and influencing data strategies. The architect will also evaluate the reusability of existing data for different analyses and advise executives on developing functional strategies that are often segment-specific. The role requires independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues, with minimal supervision, making it essential for the individual to possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of the data landscape. The Lead Data Architect is expected to be passionate about enhancing consumer experiences and contributing to an organization that prioritizes health and well-being. This position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements, and requires a dedicated workspace to ensure the protection of member PHI and HIPAA information.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data architecture solutions that meet business needs.
  • Translate business strategies and objectives into data products.
  • Ensure quality of product strategy inputs and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Reporting, and IT teams to align on prioritized roadmap.
  • Provide insights and ad hoc analytics to support projects and change initiatives.
  • Act as the primary owner for solutions across the Enterprise Operations Environment (EOE).
  • Evaluate the reusability of current data for separate analyses.
  • Advise executives on developing functional strategies on significant matters.
  • Exercise independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • SAFe Agile certification.
  • Minimum 8 years of data analytics experience.
  • Experience in using statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in working on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
  • Experience working within the healthcare industry with an emphasis on insurance.
  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and collecting structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in creating reports, projections, and presentations to support business.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks.
  • Knowledge or experience working with customer-centric technologies (i.e. Genesys, Salesforce).
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, using independent judgment.

Nice-to-haves
