About the position

Helix Electric is seeking a State Certified Lead Journeyman Electrician to join their dynamic team in Reno, NV. This role involves supervising a crew of electricians and performing electrical installations and troubleshooting in commercial settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with building codes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a crew of 2-15 electricians.
• Perform assembly, installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial settings.
• Prepare work area for installation of equipment.
• Install electrical components according to specifications.
• Connect wiring and equipment as per code and job specifications.
• Operate equipment only if trained and certified to do so.
• Set up and operate tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, and cable vacuum systems.
• Read blueprints and electrical drawings to install as specified.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances per drawings or plans.
• Secure and lock up equipment after use.

Requirements

• State Journeyman Electrician Certification is required or highly desirable in states without this requirement.
• Proven experience as a lead electrician.
• Strong knowledge of Building Codes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds.
