About the position

The Lead Data Consultant in Data Governance at Baxter is responsible for coordinating complex data analysis across various operational areas. This role involves identifying data quality issues, providing analytic leadership, and making informed business decisions based on data trends in the healthcare industry. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders to enhance data quality and governance practices within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform ad-hoc analysis to identify immediate data quality issues.
• Participate in forensic analysis of data.
• Design and develop visual analytical presentations to provide insights about data quality.
• Support the creation and cataloging of data quality rules.
• Perform source to target mapping for data.
• Assist end-users and IT departments with data interpretation and reporting.
• Conduct data quality assessments on proposed data feeds and existing repositories.
• Champion and contribute to data glossary terms and definitions.
• Provide knowledge transfer about the organization's data to end users.
• Understand Business Requirements Documents to inform the design of new data structures.
• Craft and instruct data usage training sessions.
• Develop data-related Policies & Procedures using various mediums.
• Actively participate in Data Governance efforts.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of data quality assessment techniques and data management best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a focus on data quality improvement.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Subject Matter expertise in Clinical, Financial, Manufacturing, Sales, or Marketing is a plus.
• Strong experience in SQL, Data Visualization tools, or Data Modeling is a plus.
