About the position

The Lead Analyst, Data Governance at Baxter is responsible for coordinating with stakeholders to provide complex data analysis across various operational areas. This role focuses on identifying and resolving data quality issues, supporting data governance efforts, and ensuring effective communication of data insights to inform business decisions. The position emphasizes process improvement and problem-solving techniques to enhance data quality and governance within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis to identify immediate data quality issues.
  • Participate in forensic analysis of data.
  • Design and develop visual analytical presentations to provide insights about data quality.
  • Support the creation and cataloging of data quality rules.
  • Perform source to target mapping for data.
  • Assist end-users and IT departments with data interpretation and reporting.
  • Conduct data quality assessments on proposed data feeds and existing files.
  • Champion and contribute to data glossary terms and definitions.
  • Provide knowledge transfer about the organization's data to end users.
  • Understand Business Requirements Documents to inform the design of new data structures.
  • Assist in crafting and instructing data usage training sessions.
  • Develop data-related Policies & Procedures using various mediums.
  • Actively participate in Data Governance efforts.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of data quality assessment techniques and reference data management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in SQL, Data Visualization tools, or Data Modeling is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Subject Matter expertise in Clinical, Financial, Manufacturing, Sales, or Marketing.

  • Estimated base salary of $120,000 to $165,000 annually.
