About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join the Auto Data Technology Team, focusing on the modernization of the auto data platform. This role is crucial for developing technology solutions that support complex business processes, including data transformation, modeling, performance tuning, and analytics for the Auto line of business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, broad impact initiatives for Auto Lending Data & Insights technology delivery teams.
  • Participate in large scale planning for Auto Lending Data & Insights.
  • Implement tooling and monitors to discover problems in data and applications, communicating issues to engineering and product leadership.
  • Review and analyze complex technical challenges and escalated support issues related to core business solutions.
  • Collaborate with key technical experts and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Lead pilots, proof of concept technical evaluations, and serve as a peer mentor.
  • Consult with engineering team on change design requiring understanding of technical process controls or standards.
  • Remediate security vulnerabilities and implement technology mandates in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Database Engineering experience or equivalent.
  • 5+ years' experience in running Oracle/PL SQL queries, tuning, stored procedures.
  • 5+ years' experience in ETL tools such as Informatica/Ab-Initio.
  • 4+ years' experience in troubleshooting issues to deliver business capabilities.
  • 2+ years agile methodology and JIRA experience.
  • 3+ years' experience developing and deploying Java applications and pipelines for data management on platforms like Spark.
  • 2+ years' experience with application and service design and architecture (microservices).
  • 2+ years' experience in build automation tools like Gradle and Maven.
  • 2+ years' experience and knowledge of CICD (Continuous Integration Continuous Development).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in consumer lending compliance and regulatory issue management.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) development (Ansible, Terraform, or Harness).
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of core resiliency and reliability tenets.
  • Experience in building data management pipelines.
  • Experience in DB performance tuning in relational and distributed databases.
  • Hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter and Unix scripting.
  • Experience in scheduling tools like Autosys.
  • Experience presenting analysis and evaluating solutions with stakeholders.
