About the position
The Senior Data Engineer will lead the design and implementation of data engineering solutions within the Azure ecosystem. This role focuses on developing data pipelines, managing data governance, and ensuring data security and compliance. The position requires a deep understanding of big data technologies and cloud platforms, particularly Azure, to support enterprise architecture principles and enhance data accessibility and usability across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of data engineering solutions using Azure technologies.
- Develop and manage data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Ensure data governance and compliance with security standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions with BI tools.
- Optimize data models and performance tuning for OLAP/OLTP systems.
Requirements
- Seven years of experience applying Enterprise Architecture principles, with at least five years in a lead capacity.
- Five years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
- Proficiency in developing data models and pipelines using Python and SQL.
- Experience with GitHub CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using Terraform.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, including RBAC/ABAC and data lineage.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Scala or R.
- Experience with data warehousing systems and integration of BI tools like Power BI and Tableau.
