About the position

The Lead Data Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and mentoring the data platform team within a fast-growing global entertainment and technology company. This position focuses on developing and maintaining a robust data infrastructure that processes vast amounts of data daily, ensuring data security, governance, and performance. The role involves hands-on work with tools such as Python, SQL, and DBT, and requires a strong background in data engineering and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the data platform team.
• Administer and manage Snowflake and other data infrastructure.
• Make key decisions regarding data security, governance, and performance.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Utilize Python, SQL, and DBT for data warehousing and governance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data strategies.

Requirements

• Proven technical leadership or management experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
• Highly experienced in Python for ETL development.
• Familiarity with ETL architecture and infrastructure tools like Terraform.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and data modeling tools.
• Experience developing automated data pipelines and data stores in Snowflake.
• Experience working with DBT and cloud infrastructure (AWS or Google Cloud Platform).
