We are currently seeking a dedicated and technically adept Lead Data Engineer to spearhead our data engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for architecting and scaling our cloud-based data lakehouse infrastructure, overseeing the development and management of data pipelines using tools such as Airflow and AWS Glue. You will also collaborate closely with our Data Insights and Governance group to ensure that our data solutions align with business needs and regulatory standards. As the Lead Data Engineer, you will take on several key responsibilities. You will lead the design, development, and optimization of our cloud data lakehouse and data pipelines, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with business needs. You will oversee the end-to-end development and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable data flow. Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will partner with the Data Insights and Governance group to ensure our data architecture and solutions meet business objectives while adhering to data governance and compliance standards. You will guide the architectural decisions that shape our data infrastructure, ensuring best practices in data security, performance, and scalability. Additionally, you will work closely with data science, analytics, and other teams to design and develop business intelligence models that support strategic initiatives. Mentorship is also a key aspect of this role, as you will mentor and support the growth of junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team. Ensuring data governance and integrity is paramount, and you will champion best practices to maintain data integrity across all systems. Finally, you will ensure comprehensive documentation of data systems, procedures, and standards, maintaining a high level of operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of our cloud data lakehouse and data pipelines.

  • Partner with the Data Insights and Governance group to ensure data architecture and solutions meet business objectives and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data engineering or architecture, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in building and managing large-scale data infrastructure in dynamic environments such as e-commerce, SaaS, or related industries.
  • Deep understanding of big data technologies, including AWS services (S3, Redshift, RDS), and experience with data pipeline tools like Airflow and Glue.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and tools such as Python, SQL, and data visualization tools like PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Ability to make informed decisions in high-stakes situations, balancing technical considerations with business objectives.
  • Self-driven and highly motivated, with a passion for leading technical teams and driving impactful data solutions.
