About The Position
This role is based at one of our corporate offices in Memphis, TN, McLean, VA, or Dallas, TX. As a Lead Data Engineer at Hilton, you will be part of an in-house Technology team that is dedicated to creating consumer-facing, cutting-edge technologies that are revolutionizing the hospitality industry globally. You will leverage your technical skills in a company known for its award-winning culture. Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering within the Enterprise Architecture & Data team, your primary responsibility will be to build cloud-based solutions that support Global and APAC Analytics, Data Science, Software Engineering, and Compliance/Regulatory functions. This role is crucial in improving products and positioning Hilton as a creative industry leader while ensuring the appropriate protections for our data. You will apply both technical and business acumen to transform raw data into useful data systems, enhancing the overall data strategy of the organization. In your day-to-day activities, you will apply industry principles, methodologies, and tools throughout the application lifecycle to transform design specifications into data pipelines that address customer needs. You will also implement testing strategies for these solutions to ensure they align with Hilton standards, providing the necessary controls and safeguards to maintain the quality and security of our data. Collaboration is key in this role; you will work closely with technical product owners, data architects, data modelers, developers, and operations teams across the Americas and APAC region to develop enterprise data solutions on both Global AWS and China AWS/Alibaba cloud environments. Additionally, you will transition final solutions to the Operations team for ongoing support by defining standard operating procedures and conducting knowledge transfer sessions. You will take ownership of multiple initiatives under the Enterprise Architecture & Data team, building data pipelines in both Global and APAC regions to send and receive data while adhering to compliance standards and enforcing data governance policies. Your expertise will also be utilized in developing and supporting large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines using data processing frameworks, ensuring high quality and efficiency in a multi-cloud environment.
