About the position

The Lead Data Governance Analyst plays a crucial role within the Enterprise Data Governance & Management team at TIAA, focusing on defining the data governance vision and driving capability development across the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring high data quality and governance, managing large projects related to data assessment and improvement, and implementing master data management solutions. The analyst will collaborate with business and technology leaders to enhance data management practices and support business objectives through effective data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the implementation of tools and processes to maintain firm-wide data standards.
  • Strengthens the organization's data governance capabilities to ensure high data quality throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Ensures business process, system support, and data quality governance for master data through data coordination and integration.
  • Oversees the development of reports and dashboards to identify key business metrics and optimize dashboard reporting for data-driven decision making.
  • Monitors data quality metrics, executes data quality audits, and advises on process improvements for master data processes.
  • Evaluates master data management metrics and provides recommendations for strengthening data integrity, quality, and availability across the enterprise.
  • Reviews and contributes to reports for management to quantify and articulate the business impact of data quality issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Governance and/or Data Quality Management execution and adoption.
  • Experience with Collibra or other Data Governance tools.
  • Experience working with teams dispersed in multiple locations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of and experience with Data Modeling and Data Modeling Tools (e.g., Hackalade).
  • Experience with AGILE Delivery Framework and related tools (e.g., JIRA).
  • Experience with Product Ownership and/or Product Management.
  • Experience working with a Technical Delivery team on data-related projects.
