About the position

The Lead Data Platform Engineer at Children's Mercy Hospital is responsible for the development, configuration, maintenance, testing, and monitoring of processes and products that support the enterprise data platform. This role is crucial in executing the Data Strategy for the hospital, primarily working within a Databricks environment. The position emphasizes collaboration, quality assurance, and adherence to best practices in data management.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain data pipeline integrations and solutions, incorporating on-premise with highly scalable cloud computing as well as large-scale data stores, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure a high standard of quality for the data platform, ranging from operational efficiency to the qualitative accuracy of our data.
  • Maintain technical skills and competencies.
  • Develop and promote standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or other relevant education and/or experience and 7 or more years' experience minimum working on Enterprise Systems and/or Data Platforms.
  • Associate's Degree or other technical degree program in Mathematics, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related program and 9+ years' experience with same as above.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in data warehousing, object-oriented languages, Python, schema design, Azure data engineering, CDC, Databricks, HL7 messaging standards, FHR integrations, or other related experience in similar roles.
