About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Product Owner to join the Auto Lending Data & Insights Product Team. This team is responsible for managing and delivering on Consumer Lending Auto's strategic initiatives. The Lead Data Product Owner will lead agile Scrum teams in the transformational change of the Auto Data Warehouse as the company modernizes its data platforms and accommodates data ingestion from new and upscaled sources. This role is critical in positioning the Auto business for the future in terms of data provisioning, governance, and flexibility. In this position, the Lead Data Product Owner will foster a strong agile discipline that inspires teams to continuously improve delivery, evidenced through key agility metrics. They will build frameworks for complex decision-making that enable effective debate and accelerate getting to the right answer. The role involves assuring the integrity, completeness, and quality of user stories and test cases within Scrum teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and adherence to stringent audit standards. The Lead Data Product Owner will implement and manage quality assurance processes to maintain elevated standards for product delivery and functionality. The successful candidate will communicate the product vision, manage the backlog, establish goals, and steer teams toward the development and implementation of target state technologies and processes. They will proactively engage with product strategy leaders, stakeholders, tech teams, and managers across all levels to ensure data product solutions are optimally aligned with business needs. Additionally, they will cultivate and maintain robust stakeholder relationships to manage expectations effectively and align product development with strategic business objectives. The role also includes innovating and sustaining advanced data products that enable actionable data intelligence for a wide range of business applications, from operational activities to analytics and reporting. Continuous enhancement of product quality through rigorous quality assurance standards and practices is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead agile Scrum teams in the transformational change of the Auto Data Warehouse.

  • Provide strategic input on new use case intake, prioritization, and product roadmap planning activities.
  • Serve as a mentor to less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Product Management, product development, strategic planning, process management, change delivery experience, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience creating epics and user stories.
  • Knowledge of widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
  • Experience with one or more Agile tools used for tracking user stories or backlogs, such as Confluence or Jira.
  • Data Product experience.
  • Strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies and initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations.
  • Technical data expertise to help drive technology and business teams towards an approved data strategy.
  • Ability to synthesize multi-dimensional, complex, and interrelated concepts into clear, consumable implications, actions, and decisions.
  • Demonstrated track record of effective influencing and collaboration at all levels.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex business and operational concepts so they are clearly understood.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
