About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Product Owner to join the Auto Lending Data & Insights Product Team, responsible for managing and delivering on strategic initiatives within Consumer Lending Auto. This role focuses on leading agile Scrum teams through transformational changes in the Auto Data Warehouse, modernizing data platforms, and enhancing data ingestion capabilities. The Lead Data Product Owner will play a crucial role in ensuring data governance, flexibility, and provisioning to position the Auto business for future success.

Responsibilities

• Lead agile Scrum teams in the transformation of the Auto Data Warehouse.
• Build frameworks for complex decision-making to facilitate effective discussions and solutions.
• Ensure the integrity and quality of user stories and test cases within Scrum teams, aligning with business objectives and audit standards.
• Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards for product delivery.
• Communicate product vision, manage the backlog, and steer teams towards developing target state technologies and processes.
• Engage proactively with product strategy leaders, stakeholders, and tech teams to align data product solutions with business needs.
• Cultivate stakeholder relationships to manage expectations effectively.
• Align product development with strategic business objectives.
• Innovate and sustain advanced data products for actionable data intelligence across various business applications.
• Enhance product quality through rigorous quality assurance standards and practices.
• Serve as a strategic liaison between requestors, product teams, data engineering, and architecture teams throughout the data product life cycle.
• Make decisions in complex situations requiring a solid understanding of data and analytics needs.
• Collaborate with peers and managers to ensure optimal performance of data product solutions.
• Provide strategic input on new use case intake and product roadmap planning activities.
• Mentor less experienced staff.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Product Management, product development, strategic planning, process management, or change delivery.
• 5+ years of experience creating epics and user stories.
• Knowledge of Agile techniques such as User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing.
• Experience with Agile tools like Confluence or Jira.
• Data Product experience and strategic planning experience in translating leadership vision into executable strategies.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment across all organizational levels.
• Technical data expertise to drive technology and business teams towards an approved data strategy.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 5+ years of experience as an agile product owner.
• Experience in a virtual environment with team members in various time zones.
• Demonstrated track record of effective influencing and collaboration at all levels.
