As a Lead Data Science Engineer at DraftKings, you will leverage your expertise in data science and analytics to drive impactful projects aimed at creating the most relevant product in the Sportsbook industry. Your work will be critical in deeply integrating our data science-powered understanding of the customer within our content engine and platforms. This role involves working with recommender systems and enhancing our search capabilities, ensuring that our users receive a world-class, immersive experience. You will be at the forefront of technological innovation in the industry, contributing to the development of solutions that power our platform and drive our business forward. In this position, you will lead and mentor a team of data scientists and engineers, guiding them to achieve high-impact business goals. You will develop and implement advanced machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate data science solutions into production systems. Your ability to communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership will be essential in influencing strategic decision-making. Additionally, you will innovate and experiment with new data-driven approaches to content generation and user engagement, designing and deploying algorithms and models for information retrieval and re-ranking. This role requires extensive experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical modeling, with a proven track record of leading successful projects. You will need to be proficient in programming languages such as Python and have experience with data manipulation and visualization tools. Familiarity with personalization algorithms and techniques, as well as user behavior analysis, will be crucial for integrating these insights into content and product strategies. A Master's or PhD in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics is preferred, along with strong leadership skills and excellent communication abilities to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
