About the position

The Lead Data Scientist (LDS) at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) X is a pivotal role focused on advanced analytics and data science. The LDS will design and build analytics methodologies and solutions to deliver value to clients, collaborating closely with case teams. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to drive analytics projects and mentor team members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality insights and competitive advantages for BCG's clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and build analytics methodologies, solutions, and products for BCG's clients.
• Collaborate with case teams to deliver advanced analytics solutions.
• Clarify initial objectives and set up analytics work plans and methodologies.
• Organize and manage the data scientist team members involved in projects.
• Ensure quality assurance and manage scope and work planning throughout projects.
• Mentor and coach analytics associates and data scientist team members.
• Stay current on leading-edge business applications, tools, and approaches in advanced analytics.

Requirements

• 9+ years of relevant industry work experience providing advanced analytics solutions.
• PhD or other advanced degree in business analytics, statistics, geo-statistics, operations research, geography, applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Deep technical and data science expertise.
• Acute strategic and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead and persuade teams.
• Strong drive and energy to work in a project-based environment on strategic issues.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects and teams.
