Chick-fil-A is seeking a Lead Data Software Engineer to lead a talented team of data engineers responsible for the development, management, and support of the Customer 360 data systems. This role is pivotal as Chick-fil-A enhances its data infrastructure, processes, and governance to better serve its customers. With the significant growth in digital customer engagement through the Chick-fil-A App and in-restaurant scans, the organization aims to consolidate customer data into a single, searchable, and accessible source of truth. The Lead Data Software Engineer will play a strategic role in mentoring and collaborating with data and analytics teams, influencing organizational data strategy and decisions. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker and problem solver, with a strong background in data engineering and a deep understanding of big data technologies. This position requires a proven track record of leading data engineering teams, designing, developing, and maintaining data infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and scalability. The role allows for a balance between leadership and individual contribution, with the expectation that the lead engineer will spend approximately half of their time leading and mentoring others while also contributing to engineering work. In this position, you will own the solution architecture decisions for your team's product, lead the delivery and operations, and guide the engineering team in adopting Chick-fil-A's data standards. You will also be responsible for onboarding external partner engineers and identifying emerging data engineering technologies and methodologies. The role operates within a DevOps model, requiring both building and running solutions, which may involve off-hours support shared among team members. The goal is to design for failure and automate responses to potential issues using cloud-native infrastructure patterns.
