The Lead Database Administrator for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) at Jefferson Health plays a crucial role in managing and analyzing data related to patient care and clinical outcomes. This position involves performing data acquisition, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and identifying the business and clinical implications of various assessments. The administrator will abstract information from Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to compile comprehensive patient episodic transplant records. Additionally, the role requires providing external entities with necessary reports to maintain accreditation and assisting with system planning, implementation, enhancements, and ongoing support for BMT systems through collaboration with BMT staff, vendors, and IT departments. The administrator will also work closely with team members to validate information and facilitate data analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making, as well as provide clinical data to research entities upon request. The essential functions of this role include data analysis and reporting, where the administrator will review medical records and extract relevant pre-transplant, peri-transplant, and post-transplant data for reporting to both internal and external databases. This involves assessing complex information from multiple sources, ensuring quality assurance in data entry, and submitting data to industry accreditation entities, primarily the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR). The administrator will design reports and systems to identify and resolve any accuracy or completeness deficiencies and will be responsible for importing and exporting data elements from various systems for internal use and for vendors, clients, and other business entities. In addition to data management, the role includes coordinating program preparation for FACT on-site inspections and providing administrative support for database system maintenance and integrity. The administrator will act as the primary point of contact for operational database management and coordinate maintenance and upgrade procedures. Effective planning and organizing are essential, as the administrator must ensure that all work is completed accurately and efficiently, breaking down projects into tasks, developing timelines, and regularly reassessing priorities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. The administrator will also be accountable for their actions, striving to improve individual, team, and organizational performance while participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating efficient use of organizational resources.
