About the position

As a Lead Database Administrator at Spectrum Enterprise, you will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of production databases, ensuring compliance with application specifications and company policies. This role supports the Data Engineering team and involves leading database installations, developing backup and recovery strategies, and utilizing diagnostic tools to resolve performance issues. You will collaborate with production support to implement various projects, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation and configuration of databases.
• Develop backup and recovery strategies for Database Management Systems.
• Utilize diagnostic tools to identify and resolve performance issues.
• Collaborate with production support to implement projects.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience working with database management systems in testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration in a multiple platform environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of Database Architecture including its implementation (Postgres preferred).
• Understanding of instance, database, and query tuning to improve performance.
• Good understanding of capacity planning, change management procedures, and disaster recovery methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of business users.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong understanding of Trino or Presto DB.
• Strong understanding of Oracle or MySQL DB.
• Experience working in Kubernetes.
