About The Position

We are looking for a Lead Database Administrator to join our team in the US. As a Lead Database Administrator, you are responsible for developing, administering in a collaborative environment and supporting hosted and on-premises customers. As a skilled DBA, you should have experience with on Cloud/On-premises platforms and AGILE methodologies to support our Intellectual property database team (IPDG DBA). This is an amazing opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team who works on a wide range of technologies. In this role, you will create and maintain all databases required for development, testing, education, and production usage. You will perform the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases, working closely with system administration. You will formulate and execute remediation plans where existing Database deployments fall short of industry and company standards, and assist in troubleshooting efforts when data integrity or database performance is suspected to be a possible cause of service issues. Ongoing tuning of the database instances will be part of your responsibilities, as well as installing new versions of the MSSQL and its tools and any other tools that access the SQL database. You will also plan and implement backup and recovery of the MSSQL database, advise development teams on appropriate database server deployment and configuration, and implement and enforce security for all the SQL Databases. Your role will include performing database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database, supporting service delivery and development teams by refreshing non-production database environments, and testing patches to ensure compatibility with the database environment. You will enforce and maintain database constraints to ensure integrity of the database and administer all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages, and procedures. Additionally, you will assist with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects, monitor Database alerts, and respond to issues and errors. You will assess, develop, and improve database High Availability/Disaster Recovery strategy and implement maintenance plans and monitoring to ensure Database instances are running optimally and making best use of computing resources. Finally, you will contribute to the overall strategy for the Enterprise Solutions SQL Server estate supporting internal applications, supporting developers to ensure their applications query the DBs in the most efficient possible way, and assisting with your expertise to new projects in order to define the best technologies and approaches to use from the DBA perspective.
