About the position

The Lead Deli Clerk is responsible for overseeing the Deli Department in the absence of the Department Manager. This role focuses on ensuring that the Deli meets company merchandising standards, is fully stocked, and provides exceptional guest service. The Lead Deli Clerk will lead the Deli staff, maintain the quality and freshness of products, engage with guests, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Deli Department in the absence of the Department Manager.
• Ensure the Deli is fully stocked and meets company merchandising standards.
• Provide exceptional guest service and create a friendly atmosphere.
• Lead and educate Deli staff on best practices and product knowledge.
• Maintain superior quality and freshness of salad and sliced meat products.
• Engage guests through product samples and suggestive selling.
• Understand and comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to provide outstanding leadership and guest service.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a deli or food service environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service.
