About the position

The Lead Demand Planner at Mattel is responsible for managing the demand planning process for the Barbie brand. This role involves analyzing sales data, forecasting demand, and collaborating with various teams to ensure accurate inventory management. The Lead Demand Planner will leverage their expertise in demand planning and data analysis to drive business results and improve overall supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze point-of-sale performance and shipping trends for short-term planning.
  • Conduct long-term category planning and forecasting.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on seasonality profiles.
  • Improve overall variance and bias metrics in demand planning.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and global supply planning partners to drive an accurate demand plan.
  • Create and organize work processes for efficiency.
  • Evaluate financial and business indicators to translate data into actionable information.
  • Build effective cross-functional relationships with business partners.
  • Present ideas and directions to influence action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience or MBA with 3 years of related experience.
  • Thorough understanding of inventory management.
  • Proven experience in demand planning and forecasting.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and statistics.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in gathering and documenting process and tool requirements.
  • Strong communication skills for moderating meetings and delivering presentations.
  • Demonstrated growth mindset and continuous learning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with JDA/Blue Yonder/Anaplan.
  • Experience with Tableau/Cognos/Thoughtspot.
  • Experience with VBA/SQL programming.
