About the position
The Lead Designer for Men's Basketball at Nike is responsible for creating innovative footwear designs that elevate the consumer experience and reflect culturally connected influences. This role combines design expertise with leadership skills to guide a team in developing industry-leading products from concept to reality, while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of footwear products from concept to reality.
- Engage with project teammates to research and gain insights on performance and manufacturing.
- Collaborate with athletes and other stakeholders to craft creative solutions.
- Participate in informal and formal design reviews to present work.
- Evaluate consumer trends and global insights to inform design direction.
- Champion a culturally connected vision with a focus on product design integrity.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of preferred design experience in footwear or related fields.
- Strong creative experience with a focus on consumer and cultural insights.
- Proficient in digital design tools, particularly Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for various projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for presenting ideas to diverse audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in textiles, materials, apparel, product design, or a related field.
