About the position

The Lead Designer, Visual Graphic Design at Nike is a pivotal role within the Concept Excellence team, responsible for guiding the visual and graphic language process. This position merges innovation, athlete insights, product design, and brand storytelling to create impactful visual identities for Nike's initiatives. The role requires a collaborative and imaginative designer who can translate creative strategies into compelling visual art direction, influencing the Nike organization and enhancing the global brand identity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative process on Nike's most impactful initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product design, consumer insights, merchandising, and brand teams to uncover opportunities.
  • Translate creative strategies into compelling visual identities.
  • Oversee brainstorming sessions and photoshoots.
  • Work with agency partners and present ideas to senior leadership.
  • Manage creative execution from concept to completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Design or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years professional experience in design, preferably within product, marketing, brand, or agency environments.
  • Expertise across multiple design disciplines including art direction, motion, graphic, creative strategy, and spatial design.
  • Solid portfolio of relevant work displaying a passion for storytelling, photo art direction, brand identity, and world building.
  • Excellent verbal and visual communication skills; adept at presenting and defending creative ideas.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects efficiently, managing time and resources to deliver high-quality creative output.
