DDN Storage is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team of passionate customer-enabling technologists. As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing our development and operational processes, ensuring that our systems are robust, scalable, and efficient. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning, and monitor system performance. Your expertise will help drive our cloud initiatives and improve our deployment strategies, ultimately enabling our teams to deliver high-quality products to our customers faster and more reliably. In this position, you will be responsible for leading a team of DevOps engineers, mentoring junior staff, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. You will also be involved in strategic planning and decision-making, contributing to the overall direction of our DevOps practices. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be essential as you advocate for best practices and drive the adoption of new technologies. This hybrid role allows for a flexible work environment, combining remote work with in-office collaboration to maximize productivity and team engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes.
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability and uptime.
  • Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance DevOps capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for processes, systems, and configurations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or a related role, with a strong understanding of CI/CD practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Trello.
