About the position

DDN Storage is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team of passionate customer-enabling technologists. As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing our development and operational processes, ensuring that our systems are robust, scalable, and efficient. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning, and monitor system performance. Your expertise will help drive the adoption of best practices in DevOps, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. In this position, you will be responsible for leading a team of DevOps engineers, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with software developers to streamline our development processes. You will also be tasked with identifying areas for improvement in our existing systems and processes, implementing solutions that enhance our operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, containerization, and automation tools, as well as a passion for driving innovation in a fast-paced environment. This hybrid role allows for a flexible work arrangement, combining remote work with on-site collaboration in our Wheat Ridge office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and enhancements.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain high availability and reliability.
  • Manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Implement and maintain container orchestration solutions using Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
  • Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices across the organization.
  • Mentor and guide junior DevOps engineers in their professional development.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align on project goals and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or a related role.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Experience in high-performance computing or AI-related projects.
