Lead DevOps Engineer

About the position

Cognizant is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer with over 10 years of experience in DevOps or a similar software engineering role. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years in a leadership position, guiding a team of DevOps or software engineers. Experience with embedded systems build and development processes is preferred. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with a high attention to detail, independent thinking, and problem-solving skills. The candidate should proactively seek out problems and find solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of DevOps engineers or software engineers.
• Oversee the embedded systems build and development process.
• Ensure high attention to detail in all tasks.
• Encourage independent thinking and problem-solving within the team.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or similar role.
• 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong foundation in System Engineering and Administration: Linux and Windows.
• Experience with scripting languages: Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
• Familiarity with Version Control/Repository Management tools: Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
• Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Circle-CI.
• Knowledge of Observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, or Lens.
• Experience with log management tools: Elastic Stack, Grafana Loki, or FluentD.
• Familiarity with Configuration Management tools: Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Experience with Cloud Platforms: GCP, AWS, or Azure.
