About the position

The Lead DevOps Engineer at Humana plays a crucial role in enhancing the software and infrastructure delivery lifecycle within the Clinical IT - Operational & Partner Success organization. This position focuses on improving the quality, availability, and time-to-value of software solutions by leveraging technologies such as Azure DevOps, .NET, PowerShell, SQL Server, and Windows Server. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and adept at navigating complex, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the service offering execution, work breakdown, and standardization of practice for a team of DevOps engineers.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise DevOps Engineering team to establish and execute upon maturity models, capability assessments, and roadmaps.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration between development, quality, security, and operations to enhance CI/CD practices.
  • Build, utilize, and report key metrics (such as DORA) to inform on software delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify, implement, and maintain use cases that increase efficiency, quality, or stability through automation.
  • Establish governance in coordination with enterprise infrastructure and segment architecture teams for software hosting.
  • Facilitate documentation and maintenance of environment and infrastructure mapping aligned with segment application portfolio.
  • Partner with operational stakeholders on application and technology lifecycle management practices.
  • Drive remediation for aligned security incidents.
  • Mentor and guide team members.
  • Assist in the prompt resolution of system and environment issues affecting software delivery.
  • Build strong relationships and foster positive team dynamics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years technical experience in software, network, or systems engineering.
  • 3+ years' experience working on automated pipelines for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated history of learning agility with various hosting and runtime environments.

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert).
