About the position

The Lead Development Representative (LDR) at Amazon Web Services (AWS) plays a crucial role in the Worldwide Public Sector (WWPS) Sales Organization by qualifying and generating leads, prospecting for new customers, and executing sales campaigns. This position requires collaboration with global peers, marketing, account managers, and partners to understand customer needs and present AWS solutions effectively. The LDR will work from the Arlington, VA headquarters, with an in-office requirement of at least three days a week, contributing to the growth and innovation of AWS in the cloud computing sector.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify and generate leads for the sales organization.
  • Prospect for new customers and develop sales campaigns.
  • Understand customer pain points and gather technical requirements.
  • Generate interest in AWS solutions through written reports and verbal presentations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and customers both in-person and virtually.
  • Achieve monthly qualification goals and report them in written format.
  • Update and maintain customer information in Salesforce.com with detailed call notes.
  • Present technical solutions to diverse audiences including AWS colleagues and customers.
  • Conduct research to stay informed about existing and new markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 1+ year(s) of relevant Business to Business (B2B) or Business to Government (B2G) IT sales and prospecting experience via outbound campaigns.
  • Advanced written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience selling to or supporting Federal customers and/or partners.
  • Experience using Salesforce (SFDC) or a similar CRM tool.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
