About the position

The Lead Development Representative (Inbound) at Canto is a crucial role within the sales team, focusing on engaging and qualifying new inbound marketing-qualified leads (MQLs). This position is responsible for understanding the needs of potential customers, setting up appointments for the Account Executive team, and ensuring a smooth transition of leads through the sales pipeline. The role emphasizes proactive communication and collaboration with both leads and the marketing team to enhance lead quality and conversion rates.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with new inbound leads through various channels (email, phone, chat) to understand their business needs and goals.
  • Qualify inbound leads based on established criteria to ensure they are a good fit for our product offerings.
  • Set up qualified meetings and demos for the Account Executive team to continue the sales process.
  • Follow up with inbound leads that have shown interest but haven't engaged fully to nurture and maintain momentum.
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications in CRM (Salesforce, SalesLoft, etc.) and ensure a seamless handoff to Account Executives.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to provide feedback on lead quality and conversion rates to improve future campaigns.
  • Keep up with product knowledge and industry trends to effectively communicate the value proposition to prospects.

Requirements

  • Ideally, 1 year(s) of experience in a similar role (inbound lead qualification, sales, or customer success).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience using CRM & Sales Engagement software (e.g., Salesforce, SalesLoft, Outreach, Zoominfo, etc.).
  • A passion for engaging prospects, uncovering pain points, and helping businesses find solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and eager to contribute to the growth of the company.
