About the position

The Lead Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (CV/Interventional) plays a crucial role in the Department of Vascular Surgery, operating independently to coordinate and perform angiographic and complex vascular procedures. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality diagnostic studies are conducted, facilitating proper diagnosis and treatment for patients. The technologist will oversee workflow, train new staff, and maintain quality control while working closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform angiographic procedures and complex vascular interventions.
  • Organize in-service meetings and order new equipment and supplies.
  • Train new technologists and create procedure schedules.
  • Assist in operative planning for patients and schedule exams and procedures.
  • Conduct morning huddles and assign workflow to ensure proper staffing.
  • Coordinate with vendors for supplies and equipment for procedures.
  • Perform procedures requiring the use of needles, syringes, catheters, and contrast mediums.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to adverse reactions during procedures.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in VISTA/CPRS and validate images for interpretation.
  • Develop a cohesive team environment to expedite quality patient care.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Certification in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Completion of a 24-month accredited diagnostic radiologic technology program.
  • At least one year of experience equivalent to GS-09 level in a related position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in interventional vascular diagnostic radiology.
  • Knowledge of sterile techniques and ability to assist in surgical procedures.
  • Ability to recognize allergic reactions and initiate CPR.
