About the position

The Lead Dining Server at Monarch Communities plays a crucial role in providing exceptional dining experiences for residents in a senior living environment. This position involves leading a team of Dining Servers, ensuring high standards of service, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for residents. The Lead Dining Server is responsible for taking orders, serving meals, and assisting with various dining-related tasks while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor new Dining Servers
  • Assist the Dining Room Manager with special projects as assigned
  • Take residents' dining orders in a friendly and attentive disposition
  • Learn and retain residents' names, special requests, and dietary restrictions
  • Ensure dining room is set up, all items needed for service are readily available
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the dining room, menus, kitchen, serving stations, and other areas as directed
  • Ensure safe food handling
  • Assist with preparation of beverages, snacks, desserts, salads, and condiments for service
  • Assist residents with any special dining requests
  • Ensure all residents are accounted for during each meal, and completing documentation of their attendance
  • Assist with special events
  • Participate in and attend all in-service training as scheduled
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as community policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned including assisting staff, creating schedules, organizing side work, and guest relations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred/GED accepted
  • Minimum of two years' experience in fine dining hospitality and/or full service senior living
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Competent in organizational, time management skills
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Experience working with seniors
